How it all started...
City Church began as Port Arthur Fellowship with twelve people who shared a common burden for Port Arthur. They saw the needs of their city, the people they loved, and the stories still waiting to be redeemed. What they had in common wasn’t a grand plan or abundant resources—it was a shared faith in Jesus and a conviction that the Gospel could bring real hope.
They gathered, prayed, and stepped forward together, believing that obedience could make a difference. Those twelve chose to show up for their city, to love their neighbors well, and to trust God with the outcome. What started as a small group with a big heart became a growing work rooted in faith, sacrifice, and a desire to see lives changed in Port Arthur.

Expanding the vision...
In 2025, Port Arthur Fellowship took a meaningful step forward by changing its name to City Church. Over time, it became clear that the work God was doing among them had grown beyond a single gathering—it had become deeply relational, intentional, and woven into the life of the city itself. The church was no longer defined only by where it met, but by how it loved, served, and walked alongside the people of Port Arthur. “City Church” became the clearest expression of who they had become: a community shaped by the Gospel, present in the city, and committed to reaching it with hope.
Where we are headed...
City Church has made a lasting impact on Port Arthur by choosing to be present, prayerful, and deeply invested in the life of the city. From gathering to pray in neighborhoods, schools, and public spaces, to walking alongside individuals as their lives are restored and transformed, the church has seen the Gospel bring real change. Stories of hope, healing, and new beginnings continue to emerge as people encounter Jesus and experience freedom. As the church often says, “City Church does not want to be known as the best church in the city, but as the best church FOR the city.” That commitment has shaped everything they do—serving with humility, loving with intention, and pointing Port Arthur to the hope found in Christ.
